Mr Ian Winspur

Mr Ian Winspur is a Consultant Plastic and Hand Surgeon, who has focussed his interests and specialisation in Hand Surgery and the management of complex Hand problems. He has a specialist interest in the Musician’s Hand and has helped many professional musicians to maintain comfortable performance and continued careers in the face of Hand conditions or post
- Hand trauma.

Ian has dual Fellowships in America and the UK, and has enjoyed successful clinical practise in the London and the West Coast of the ‘States. He was in independent practise in Santa Barbara, California, and took a particular interest in Hand injury in the workplace. Since 1991, Ian Winspur has been in practise in the UK, initially leading the Hand Unit at the King Edward VII Hospital, and subsequently as Director of the Hand Unit at the Devonshire Hospital, London. He is currently in practise at the Wellington Hospital, London, and the Princess Grace Hospital, London.

Ian Winspur currently has a large London - based practise in general Hand Surgery, and the management of the Musician’s hand, and is an acknowledged expert in medico-legal matters relating to hand conditions and hand injury. He is a member of both the British and American Societies for Surgery of the Hand, as well as the Society of Doctors in Law and the Medico-Legal Society.

Ian Winspur has regularly contributed to the professional literature and has authored and/or edited over 20 peer reviewed articles on subjects relating to Hand Surgery.
